The Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) is executing a number of significant water policy reforms through its Directorate of Water Resources Management (DWRM). The changes include adopting the catchment-based approach to water resources management (WRM) and investment planning, as well as the concepts of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The Ministry of Water and Environment contracted Zutari Africa Limited to conduct a comprehensive situation assessment and the preparation of a strategy and action plan for the Albert Water Management Zone, with funding from the World Bank. MEIR is providing incountry sub-consultancy services to Zutari specifically focused on data collection and stakeholder engagements, detailed water resources modelling, social, environmental and institutional assessment.
