Review of the Well Pads Drainage Design

Buliisa and Nwoya Districts, Uganda

TOTAL E&P Uganda B.V., is developing the Tilenga Upstream Project near Lake Albert. The project comprises upstream facilities and enabling infrastructure, with Package IV covering well pad civil works, including site preparation, construction of drilling pads, and connecting access roads.

MEIR conducted site reconnaissance and condition assessments of drainage systems; developed intensity-duration-frequency curves for the sites; performed detailed hydrological analyses using Rational, TRRL, and SCS methods; carried out sediment yield studies; modelled flood impacts downstream of each well pad using PCSWMM, prepared detailed hydrology and hydraulic design reports, developed concept drawings for the drainage system, and formulated a general methodology for well pad flood mitigation.
