The Kampala Sanitation Masterplan update, funded by KfW and implemented through Fichtner Water & Transportation, focused on identifying priority areas and investment clusters for expanding the city’s sewer network, providing a roadmap to enhance coverage and service delivery.

MEIR Engineering and Research Ltd carried out site reconnaissance, reviewed the updated masterplan, developed preliminary designs of sewer networks encompassing densification, rehabilitation, and extension works, prepared preliminary cost estimates, and compiled a preliminary design report for the proposed sanitation investments and climate-related improvements.
